  6. 1/2 tsp Salt
    – Sift together dry ingredients
  7. 1 egg
  8. 4 TBL COLD butter
  9. 1 C COLD buttermilk

  • Cut in 4 tbl COLD butter . Cold and chopped
  • Add 1 C COLD buttermilk and mix briefly using your hands – DO NOT OVERMIX or biscuits will be tough
  • Cover and let it rest for an hour
  • Put on floured surface and flatten to about 1 inch with your hands
  • Fold and flatten again
  • Brush lightly with melted butter or spray with spray shortening
  • Fold and flatten again – this creates layers for flaky biscuits
  1. Roll to about 3/4 inches thick
  2. Cut into squares, or use circle cutter
    – If using a circle cutter DO NOT TWIST the cutter. This will crimp the edge and flatten your biscuits
  3. Spread out on greased baking sheet about 1/2 inch apart
  4. Brush top with melted butter
  5. Bake at 450° for about 12-14 minutes – Turn tray around about halfway between cooking
