Caramelized Onions

This is a good side for any protein, and also helps accent any sandwiches or burgers.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Large sweet onion – sliced thin
  • 1/4 C balsamic vinegar
  • 2 TBL sugar
  • 1/2 C water

STEP BY STEP

  1. Sweat onions in 1 TBL butter over low heat
  2. Add balsamic and reduce
  3. Add sugar after they are quite wilted
  4. Add water and let them simmer for 30 minutes
  5. Cool and refrigerate
  6. Serve as a side
