Classic Corn Bread

  • 2/3 cu yellow corn meal
  • 1/4 C AP flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 C water
  • 3/4 C buttermilk
  • 1 egg – beaten

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients
  2. Combine wet ingredients: 1/3 cu water, ¾ cu buttermilk, 1 beaten egg
  3. Combine above ingredients – DO NOT OVERMIX
  4. Bake in greased baking pan at 400 degrees for 30 minutes
  5. Turn out of pan immediately.
