This is the classic recipe as provided by Sun-Maid Raisins.
- 3/4 C butter – softened
- 1 C packed brown sugar
- 1/2 C granulated sugar
- 1/4 C milk
- 1 large egg
or 1 medium egg plus 1 yolk - 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 C AP flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 C old-fashioned oats
- 1 C Sun-Maid raisins
- Preheat oven to 350º
- Combine and beat butter, sugars, milk, vanilla, and eggs until light and fluffy
- In a separate bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt – mix well
- Add flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well
- Stir in oats and raisins
- Drop by the tablespoon onto a greased cookie sheet leaving two inches of space between each one
- Bake 12-15 minutes
- Remove from cookie sheet immediately and set on paper towel, newspaper or wire rack to cool
