Rachel Ray’s basic stuffing

Rachel Ray’s basic stuffing
Serves 5 people

2 C Chopped Apple
1 C Celery
1 C Onion
2 TBL thyme
1 bay leaf

One stick of butter melting in large sauté pan
Chopped ingredients into butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Cook at medium heat for about 20 minutes
One half bag Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
2 cups turkey stock
Mix lightly until most liquid is absorbed

Chestnuts, 1/2 LB ground Italian sausage
Deglaze with brandy
